System Administrator

Job description

ESTECO SpA is looking for a System Administrator for the IT Team.
You will join our IT team that is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems and related infrastructure. You will be involved in technical research and development, with the goal of continuously improving and innovating the existing infrastructure.

You will be trained by senior colleagues to understand and get the knowledge about different areas like networking, security, and virtualization. Additionally you will be involved in help-desk activities.

Your key tasks will be:

  • help and support ESTECO employees in troubleshooting hardware/software problems

  • working on network administration: switches, NG firewall, routers, access points

  • management of the virtualization platforms

  • management of centralized authentication systems

  • working with other technical specialists to implement and integrate new services

  • maintenance and support of a large number of systems in an heterogeneous environment

  • writing scripts and tools to improve system performance and security

  • writing documentation for users and operators

Job requirements

The ideal candidate knows:

  • Linux/Unix and Windows systems

  • Networking architectures and protocols

  • Virtualization system management

  • Centralized authentication systems (Active Directory)

  • Security best practices and firewall management

  • Problem solving skills

  • Teamwork skills

  • Customer care or help-desk experience

  • Fluent in Italian

  • Knowledge of English

The following optional skills are appreciated:

  • MSc, BSc, Laurea or university degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Electronics Engineering or related

  • Knowledge of MacOS machines administration

  • Database management (e.g. MySQL)

  • Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages (PHP, Java, JavaScript, Shell, HTML)
